13th Annual Taste of Eatonton Tickets on Sale

Calling all foodies!

Local restaurants will show off and share what they're made of at The Taste of Eatonton this fall.

The 13th Annual Taste of Eatonton is set for October 1 from 6-8 p.m. at the Plaza Arts Center Lawn.

Celebrate 4th of July at Lake Freedom Festival

Head over to Lake Sinclair for a 4th of July Celebration!

A 5K and Fun Run kicks off the day at 8 a.m. and then in the afternoon from 1-8 p.m., kids can enjoy the water zone and parents can enjoy the shopping!

The day ends on a final note with fireworks.

The Plaza Arts Center hosts a Summer Art Camp for youth in July.

The dates are: July 16-20 (Monday-Friday) from 9-noon.

Here is what the camp offers this year: 
- Paper Making and work with Paper Mache`
- Weaving bracelets and bookmarks
- Abstract Drawing
- Daily drawing instruction and sketching time
- Lettering/Calligraphy
- “Stomp It Up” – intro to modern clogging/tap dance
- Poetry Writing

Annual Dairy Festival Set for June

EATONTON, GA.-- The annual Central Georgia festival that celebrates the local dairy industry, Eatonton's Dairy Festival, returns June 2. 

The festival events take place around the Putnam County Courthouse and is sponsored by the Pilot Club.

Main events involve  a parade, BBQ, live entertainment. Here is the 2012 festival schedule:

8 a.m.    Road Races -Sponsored by the Farmers and Merchants Bank

9 a.m.    Booths open on and around the Courthouse Square

Air Show Features Blue Angels

Air Show Features Blue Angels

ROBINS, AFB., GA.--The Air Show lineup features performers including the U.S. Navy Blue Angels, F-18 Hornets, the C-130 Hercules, and the Air Force F-22 Raptor.

The air show is free and open to the public and starts at 11:30 a.m.

You can park at the Macon Airport, McConnell-Talbert Stadium and Anchor Glass and then catch bus transportation to the show. The shuttle starts at 9:45 a.m. both days and gates open at 10 a.m.

The shuttle runs until 5 p.m.
