MADISON – The president and CEO of the Los Angeles Emergency Preparedness Foundation visited Madison Monday and Tuesday along with various federal and state Emergency Management Agency officials to get a first-person view of the Harvest of the Heart Garden and the organization’s plans for a cannery and community kitchen in the Gilmore house on Burney Street.

HHG recently received a $35,000 grant for the project from the Community Resilience Innovation Challenge program through the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), according to Harvest Founder Jewel Hatcher.
