Pumpkin Festival Returns to Crooked Pines

Crooked Pines Farm hosts its annual Pumpkin Festival this weekend.

From 10-4 they'll have fall activities from the pumpkin patch to hay rides to a petting farm to pony rides and a corn-cob derby and more on both Saturday and Sunday. They're located at 355 Harmony Road.

Join us here at Crooked Pines Farm on October 5 and 6 for our yearly Pumpkin Festival! We will have fun activities and booths from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days. This year there will be traditional fall fun activities such as our pumpkin patch, hay rides, petting farm, pony rides, and a corn-cob derby in addition to other fun stuff for the kiddos like bobbing for apples, face painting, crafts, a bounce house, and more!

Breast Cancer Awareness Ceremony Before Bleckley Football Game

BCHS will hold their annual "Pink Out" for breast cancer awareness during the September 27 home football game versus Putnam County. 

Survivors are invited on the field to participate and to cheer on the Royals when they run out.  Those interested in participating should meet by the helmet in the end zone at 7 p.m.

SPOTTED | Central Georgia Authors Featured in 'Rural Georgia Authors Tour'

Two well-known Central Georgia authors were featured in Deep South Magazine.

Eatonton natives Alice Walker and Joel Chandler Harris as well as Flannery O'Connor are featured.

Deep South Mag reports that Walker visited O'connor's home in the '70s, just a few years before winning a Pulitzer Prize.
