Treat Yourself and the Children's Miracle Network

When you treat yourself to a Dairy Queen blizzard this Thursday, you're also treating the Children's Miracle Network.

Thursday marks Miracle Treat Day, a day where at least a dollar from every blizzard will go to Children's Miracle Network, according to a release.

Last year nationwide and in Canada, the fundraiser brought almost $5 million to Children's Miracle Network hospitals.

The Children's Hospital of the Medical Center of Central Georgia is a member of the Children's Miracle Network Hospitals.

Faster Mobile Internet Speeds Come to Baldwin, Hancock Counties

AT&T turned on the 4G LTE switch in Milledgeville and Hancock County today.

According to a release, customers in these areas will have mobile internet speed up to 10 times faster than 3G.

This affects anyone who has a 4G LTE-enabled phone.

“We continue to see demand for mobile Internet skyrocket, and our 4G LTE network in Milledgeville responds to what customers want from their mobile experience — more, faster, on the best devices,” said Stan Shepherd, AT&T Regional Director of External Affairs in a news release.

Mercer University Cheerleaders to Host Camp for Kids

The Mercer University Cheerleaders will hold a camp for children ages 5-14 July 8-12 and July 15-19.  The camp will be held at the Macon campus.  Times are are noon to 5 pm.  Cost is $120 per session and includes a T-shirt.

Harvest of the Heart Receives $35K Grant

MADISON – The president and CEO of the Los Angeles Emergency Preparedness Foundation visited Madison Monday and Tuesday along with various federal and state Emergency Management Agency officials to get a first-person view of the Harvest of the Heart Garden and the organization’s plans for a cannery and community kitchen in the Gilmore house on Burney Street.
