Campus Club Milledgeville, in association with the Las Vegas Defenders, Kent Buckner, and the Black Student Alliance at Georgia College Sponsor The CCM Talent Showcase Auditions.

When: Auditions are January 5 and 6, 2013

Time: Call Toyia Barnes to schedule your audition time

Middle-Georgia students 10 years and up are invited to audition for a talent showcase with a grand prize trip to Las Vegas to perform at the Las Vegas Defenders basketball game.

“Campus Club Milledgeville is a place that allows students to follow their dreams,” said Campus Club Milledgeville assistant director Toyia Barnes. “This opportunity gives them a peak into what possibilities are out there in the world.”

Teachers: Applications for Bright Ideas Grant Due Saturday

Teachers can apply for a grant to fund innovative classroom projects this week.

The Bright Ideas grant, funded by Tri-County EMC, is open to all Georgia certified teachers in grades pre-k through 12 in public or private schools in Baldwin, Jones, Putnam, Twiggs and Wilkinson counties.

Projects could be funded for up to $1,500.

Applications should be received by Dec. 1.

Christmas Tree Lot Opens in Eatonton

Starting Monday, November 19, you'll be able to head over to Crooked Pines Farm to pick out a fir tree for your living room!

You'll be able to enjoy apple cider or hot chocolate as you meander through the tree lot. 

The tree lot opens Monday, November 19 from 2-8 p.m.

The hours will then be:

Mon-Fri: 2-8 p.m.
Saturday: 10 a.m.- 8 p.m.
Sunday: 2-6 p.m.

Chamber Plans Cash Mob in Downtown Eatonton

You can help boost the Eatonton local economy during a Cash Mob!

Head downtown Eatonton for a Cash Mob Nov. 2 Thursday and again on Friday, Nov. 9.

What is it?  "A cash mob is an organized event where a group of people meet at a local business prepared to spend a predetermined amount of money.  The purpose of a cash mob is to support the local business and the community as a whole," according to an Eatonton Chamber of Commerce news release. 

How it'll work:

"Meet at 11 a.m. on the front lawn of the Putnam County Courthouse on Nov. 2 or on the center lawn of The Village at Harmony Crossing on Nov. 9 with a minimum of $20 in hand ready to spend at a designated store that will be announced upon meeting.
