Hancock employees allegedly fired unfairly

Hancock employees allegedly fired unfairly

Hancock County's former election supervisor says she was fired unfairly.

Aretha Hill says three members of the county's Board of Elections and Registration filled out evaluations two days before she was fired. She says she never knew there were any problems.

A group of protesters including Hill's husband protested outside the temporary courthouse in Sparta Tuesday morning. They say another board employee, Robin Rhodes, was also fired unjustly. Hill says she was fired during an April 23rd meeting and board members told her she was rude to citizens and reprimanded board members. Hill says both are untrue. She says she just wants to know why she was fired.

"I haven't done anything wrong to deserve this, nothing but did my job," said Hill. "I think the citizens of Hancock County can vouch for that."
