Milledgeville Police Continue Investigation Into Stabbing Death
News

Milledgeville Police Chief, Dray Swicord said police have one more witness interview to conduct in their investigation of a 19-year-old Eatonton woman that was stabbed to death Tuesday night. He said they expect to talk to the witness Thursday afternoon.

After the final witness interview, Swicord said the next step for investigators is the autopsy and toxicology reports, which could be available in a couple of weeks. He said until they have those results they won't be able to say whether it is a homicide or suicide.

Baldwin County coroner John Gonzalez identified the victim as Laura Baswell. He said she died of a stab wound to the chest around 11 p.m. Tuesday night at 1430 Vinson Highway, where her boyfriend Seth Glenn lives.

Glenn said Baswell stabbed herself. He said she was stressed and agitated Tuesday night and decided to take her own life.
