Bobby Dean Engram 1941-2013

Pa” Bobby Dean Engram, 71, of Eatonton died Tuesday, June 18, 2013.

He was born in Edison, Ga., Aug. 31, 1941, to the late Willie Lee and Inez Smith Engram.

Arthur Dennis 1954-2013

Arthur Keith Dennis, 58, died at a Macon Hospital Monday, June 17, 2013.

He was born in Covington Aug. 17, 1954, to Carl Dennis and the late Evelyn Delores Cargile Dennis. He lived in Eatonton for the past 36 years and was employed by Haband.

Carrie Irene Johnson Wheeler

Carrie Irene Johnson Wheeler, age 91, passed away on February 24, 2013 at Pine Pointe Hospice in Macon. A Memorial service will be held at Hart’s Mortuary, Cherry Street on February 27, 2013 at 12:00PM, with The Reverends Jody and Julie Long officiating. The family will greet friends one hour prior to service time on Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery, North Gate. Ms. Wheeler was born on April 12, 1921 in Sparta, Georgia and graduated from Sparta High School in 1939. She moved to Macon in 1947 where she was employed at Robins AFB in what was then the Directorate of Procurement. Ms. Wheeler was a member of the First Baptist Church of Christ and the Believer’s Sunday School Class. She enjoyed cooking for her family and friends, crafts, gardening, and shopping. She was an avid bridge player and a regular follower of Atlanta Braves baseball. Ms.

Benny Ranow 83, of Eatonton, died at a Macon hospital Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013.
He was born in Butler, Ga., to Johnny and Mary Hutto Ranow. He served in the Army and had worked as an aircraft inspector.

The service will be held Monday, Feb. 18, at 3 p.m. at Vining Ivy Hill Chapel, with the visitation an hour before service time.

Burma W. Bridges

 

Funeral services for Mrs. Burma West Bridges, 76, of Cochran who died Tuesday, October 9, 2012 in Seale, Alabama will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

Mrs. Bridges was born in Hancock County, the daughter of the late Steve and Lena Johnson West. She was the widow of Eugene Bridges. She was a member of Beulah Springs Congregational Holiness Church and a homemaker. She was preceded in death by a son, Willis Bridges and a sister, Hazel Grenade.

Survivors include 2 daughters, Wanda (Joey) Sinkule of Seale, Alabama and Wendy (Robert) Davis of Macon; 2 sons, Wendell (Theresa) Bridges of Macon and Wade (Winnie) Bridges of Montrose; 2 brothers, Jerry West of Montrose and Steve West of Deepstep; sister, Patsy Stewart of Eatonton; 19 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild.

The family will meet friends at the funeral home from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Thursday night.

Lars Alecksen's Funeral Set for Saturday

Father of fallen soldier  Army Spc. Erica Alecksen, Lars Alecksen passed away Tuesday.

His funeral is set for Saturday, September 1 at 11 a.m.at the Great Hall of First United Methodist Church, according to his obituary.
