CGTC Will Offer Commercial Driving Courses at Putnam Campus

CGTC will offer Commercial Truck Driving (CID) courses at the Putnam County campus. Students will be able to earn their CDL within eight weeks.

Beginning March 11, Middle Georgia Technical College will offer Commercial Truck Driving (CTD) courses in Putnam County at the Central Georgia Technical College campus.  The courses will enable students to earn their Commercial Driver's License within eight weeks.

Registration for the truck driving courses will last until the first day of classes, which is March 11.  Applications, along with the $15 application fee, should be submitted to the Central Georgia Technical College Putnam County Center located at 580 James Marshall Bypass in Eatonton.

MADISON – Morgan County educators would take another hefty hit in their paychecks under proposals to close an estimated $2.9 million gap between projected revenues and expenditures during the upcoming 2013-2014 academic year.

OFTC 2013 Rick Perkins Winner Named

Oconee Fall Line Technical College named Machine Tool Technology Instructor David Hall as the local college winner of the Rick Perkins Award for Excellence in Technical Instruction, a statewide program initiated by the Technical College System of Georgia to honor outstanding instructors at the System's 25 member institutions.

The announcement was made Tuesday, February 12th at a luncheon honoring GOAL and Rick Perkins nominees, finalists, and winners at the College’s North Campus in Sandersville.

Other finalists for the title included Kevin Corbin, criminal justice instructor; Laura Layfield, computer information systems instructor; and Angie Yarbrough, business administrative technology instructor.

The deadline is April 15, 2013. The form says that the teacher will then have to fill out an application after your nomination. Be sure to give teachers plenty of time before the April 15 deadline.
