Lane Closure on I-75 N to Assist Race Traffic

After the race on Sunday, September 4 until 3 a.m. on Monday, a lane will be closed on I-75 North to help alleviate Atlanta Motor Speedway traffic.

This lane closure occurs between mile markers 218 and 219.

The closure will assist exiting race traffic as it merges onto I-75 northbound from SR 20 eastbound.

License Plate Revote Opens Monday

ATLANTA (AP) -- The public is again invited to weigh in on Georgia's new license plate design.

Online voting will reopen at 3 p.m. Monday.

Gov. Nathan Deal had planned to announce the winner of an earlier design contest last Friday, but the state scrapped its plans over public confusion on whether the motto "In God We Trust" would be on the plate.

The eight semi-finalist license plate designs have been posted for the Governor's contest.

You can now vote on your favorite until July 15.

Junior journalist auditions will take place today at the Galleria Mall in Centerville from 4-6 p.m.

The child auditioning must be born between August 1, 1998 and August 1, 2001. You must bring proof of date of birth to the audition.

The audition in Macon will take place Tuesday, April 5 from 4-6 p.m. in the Museum of Arts and Sciences.

A panel of 13WMAZ employees will judge those auditions. The top scoring 25 kids will move on to a final round that will be judged by a community panel. We will not contact the children between rounds 2 and 3. We will surprise the winning children in their classrooms before school lets out for the summer.
